Seeds and more seeds

January is when I plan out the rest of the spring, summer and autumn season in the garden. I don’t plan with a specific color scheme or any strict rules in mind, but rather what calls to me. It could be a new variety, a flower I’ve been wanting to try, an interesting shade, or my go to favorites I love to grow each year. I do, however, keep in mind the types of flowers. I tend to want all focal flowers, bc they are the MOST beautiful! When what I really need to bring balance in my arrangements are more filler and textural types. Supporting flowers are just as important and will tie an arrangement together in just the right way.

A crucial step that can’t be missed is figuring out how much space you have to grow flowers. I measure and sketch it out first. Like over and over again. :p I plant my seeds 6-9 inches apart depending on the flower. Definitely something to keep in mind when buying seeds! I always want them all! But if you give your seeds plenty of space, sunshine, love, and good fluffy soil, then they will be very happy. Just like humans! Minus the fluffy soil. Happy Gardening!
